Global Process Systems Inc of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and PAE Thailand Public Company Limited of Bangkok, Thailand, have established a strategic partnership that encompasses a comprehensive range of services to be provided to the oil and gas industry in Thailand and beyond. The partnership was formally announced during Gastech, the major oil and gas conference and exhibition being held this week in Bangkok.
Chief Executive of Global Process Systems Inc Clint Elgar said, “This new addition to the GPS Group portfolio will further strengthen our “global reach, local presence” approach. The core competencies and long history of PAE Thailand will bring significant additional resources to our portfolio and enable us to provide a fully integrated capability in Thailand and beyond.”

With headquarters in Dubai, UAE, the GPS Group has an established presence in strategic locations within the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. GPS is part of the Al Jaber Group, one of the largest in the Middle East (employing 40,000 people and with a turnover of US$1.5 billion.
Far East regional presence includes fabrication facilities in Singapore and Batam in Indonesia, and engineering offices in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The partnership with PAE (Thailand) adds engineering offices in Bangkok, with fabrication facilities in Rayong in the east and Songkhla in the south of Thailand as well as a qualified engineering and technical workforce that is able to operate throughout the region.
PAE is a long-established company with more than 40 years’ track record with impressive local references including PTT, Chevron, Thai Olefins and PTTEP. The company’s portfolio of services includes mechanical and electrical engineering, Non-Destructive Testing, a wide range of fabrication activities and industrial services.
GPS’ core business is centered on some of the most dynamic sectors of the oil and gas industry, including: Mobile Offshore Production Units, FPSO Topsides Modules, Floating LNG, Onshore Early Production Facilities and Onshore LNG & Mini LNG Production Facilities.
During Gastech, the company is showcasing its concept for Mini-LNG plants with applications for onshore and offshore facilities. The process used provides a cost-effective, safe and reliable route to alternative energy. Plants in China and Australia are already in operation.
A major area of GPS business is the conversion of drilling rigs to Mobile Offshore Production Units which are provided to clients on a lease basis, enabling marginal assets to be brought on stream quickly. Key examples of this include the Cendor Producer MOPU which enabled the Cendor Development in Malaysia to be brought on stream in less than two years for Petrofac, the Maleo Producer currently producing 125 mmscfd of gas for Santos Australia and a third rig which is ready for deployment on a field in South East Asia. Conversion of two additional rigs will commence work shortly.
The GPS Group undertakes all aspects of engineering, project management, procurement and construction activities. The company also specialises in the supply of large process skids such as Amine, Glycol Dehydration/ Regeneration, Gas Sweetening and Gas Oil Water Separation.
