Having signed a license agreement with Global Process Systems (GPS), Cetco Oilfield Services have extended their services into New Zealand.
GPS, a leading design, engineering and fabrication company which has offices throughout Asia and the Middle East have formed an alliance with CETCO Oilfield Services for the production of propriety CrudeSep technology.
The license agreement allows GPS to manufacture, market and sell CETCO's proprietary CrudeSep water treatment technology as an integrated part of the larger produced water packages which GPS supply.
Since the alliance was formed, CETCO and GPS are working on a number of water treatment projects, one of which is the supply of CrudeSep technology for a project in New Zealand offshore waters. The fabrication and supply of a CrudeSep 60" water treatment vessel for this project is part of a larger FPSO topside package being supplied by GPS.
CETCO's CrudeSep technology will act as a final water polishing vessel, ensuring all produced water which is discharged overboard the FPSO has an oil in water specification of less than 30 ppm at a flow rate of approximately 45,000 barrels per day. Fabrication of the unit is underway and installation will begin next year. CETCO will provide manpower for the installation and commissioning of the treatment process, as well as personnel to train the end user operators.
Commenting on CETCO's joint venture with GPS, Satheesh Jaganathan, CETCO's Project Manager for the application said:
"Our agreement with GPS allows us to penetrate new markets. GPS are a worldwide provider of oil, natural gas and water treatment processing and production facilities. The licensed agreement which permits GPS to manufacture and utilise CrudeSep technology as part of their own larger processing applications, allows us to extend our services - adding value to our business.
"This is the first project which CETCO have ever undertaken in the these waters. It also represents the first project in which GPS are utilising our CrudeSep technology, so this is an exciting time for us!
"The fabrication of the 60" skid vessel required for the application is already in progress, and we are looking forward to the project beginning next year."
